King of Cups

Let’s compare the King of Cups!
The King of Cups ends our journey through the Suit of Cups for these two decks.
The King of any Suit represents the mastery of this cycle of the life journey. With Cups being the emotional and spiritual journey, the King will represents become the master of the internal cycle of emotions.  Both cards show the wonderful range of the color blue and draw your eyes to the center figures immediately.
As we finish this journey though the Cups, I feel both decks have given us a great start and as we continue, I hope we learn more.
The Santa Muerte King shows a masculine figure, drinking deep from a cup. The Tarot of the Divine card showcases a Chinese dragon and draws from the myth of The Boy and the Dragon Pearl. I’ve included a link to an overview of the myth. If you are unfamiliar with Chinese mythology, dragons are very powerful and respected creatures. Dragons hold a hierarchy as being the most powerful creature, and are considered natural leaders, protectors, and guides. By representing the King of Cups with such a powerful figure, it’s easy to draw conclusion regarding the card.

Both cards showcase a strong masculine figure that is secure in his path, and secure with his emotions. Between both, I favor the Tarot of the Divines, due it’s deeper connection to an emotional guardian, than a simpler figure, as  shown in my beloved Santa Muerte deck. If I were to pick which would be a guiding card, I would say the King of Cups from the Santa Muerte deck is a good guide, but if I had to pick a signifier card, I’d pick the Tarot of the Divine.
