Let’s compare the Six of Cups!
The Six of Cups comes as the upside after the grief that’s been associated with the Four of Cups and Five of Cups. Six of Cups shows more abundance and happiness after dealing with grief and depression. In the Santa Muerte deck on the left, we see a feminine figure holding an armful cups, looking at them in appreciation. There are flowers growing now. In the Tarot of the Divine on the left, we see two children sharing a cup full of flowers through open windows with each other.
The Six of Cups card from the Tarot of the Divine is based on The Snow Queen, another Danish tale by Hans Christian Anderson. Here is a link to read the story for yourself. This story is about the little boy who is stolen away by the Snow Queen and the little girl’s journey to save him and bring him home. The story starts about how the children are great friends and are next door neighbors, who have lots of fun through their open windows in the warm seasons. The story concludes with the little girl finding the little boy cold on the Snow Queen’ s mountain, frozen. She thaws him with tears of happiness after reuniting with her dear friend. If this is not a metaphor for the happiness of reuniting with your friends and that love can help you through the coldness and darkest times in life, then
This card traditionally means nostalgia for childhood and reuniting after time apart. In the Santa Muerte deck, I see abundance and happiness after a time of grief. In the Tarot of the Divine, I see the prosperity of spring and the abundance that comes with companionship.
