Oh man, I was so busy yesterday I forgot to post everything! But oh well, onto today!
That’s my advice for the day (without the cards lol): accomplish what you can in one day, and start fresh the next.
Now onto our daily reading!
I’m using my deck Santa Muerte by Fabio Listrani.
Oh man, I have been waiting for this card to show up! It’s been stuck in the back of my mind for awhile now, because it’s just so striking and well-composed.
It honestly just shouts GREED at me, like a toddler screaming.
Pentacles represent material wealth, and Fours are usually a more conservative number; Fours in most decks (regardless of suit) represent things like planning, stability, and reevaluation.
The scene playing out shows a bride, larger than life (almost literally), plucking a man from the town. Other townspeople, all women, continue about their day, unaffected by the giantess taking their neighbor. The bride, in her stark white gown, is at contrast of the green of the roofs and the greenery behind her. She wears an almost angry growl, like she is mad at her groom, but also bitterly victorious in taking her pick.
So does this card really mean greed, or being greedy? Traditonally, it means financial stability, but even looking at the Rider-Waite deck, I feel more draw to it exuding greed or hoarding wealth.
For me, this card represents greed; in the Rider-Waite deck, the Four of Pentacles depicts a man clutching coins tightly to his chest. So I believe my lesson for today is to not be greedy, or to watch myself for signs of greed.
Maybe this card resonates differently for you. Let me know in the comments!
